Breakthrough in air transport between Iceland and Canada
The first Icelandair flight of 2008 in Canada touched down at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport on April 21st. With up to three flights weekly, this service reflects the confident resumption of the air link between Iceland and Atlantic Canada.
Icelandair commemorated its first flight between Iceland and Toronto on May 2, 2008. With up to five flights weekly, this service marks the extension of Icelandair's service into Canada under the Open Skies agreement between the Canadian government and Iceland which was signed in the Icelandic Embassy residence in Ottawa in July of 2007.
Toronto is the biggest city in and main transportation hub of Canada.
