Nýr sendiherra Íslands til Noregs
Þann 21. ágúst 2008 afhenti dr. Sigríður Dúna Kristmundsdóttir Haraldi V Noregskonungi trúnaðarbréf sitt sem sendiherra Íslands í Noregi. Sigríður Dúna er fyrsta konan til að gegna embætti sendiherra í Noregi frá því að sendiráð var stofnað þar árið 1947. Í umdæmi sendiráðsins eru auk Noregs eftirtalin ríki: Egyptaland, Súdan, Libýa, Grikkland, Pakistan, Íran, Barein, Jemen, Óman og Sameinuðu arabísku furstadæminn.
On the 21st of August 2008 Sigríður Dúna Kristmundsdóttir presented to His Majesty, King Harald V, the Letters of Credence accrediting her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iceland to the Kingdom of Norway. Dr. Kristmundsdottir is the first woman to serve as Iceland’s Ambassador to Norway since the founding of the Embassy in 1947. The presentation took place at the Royal Palace.
