Getting There

GeoSea is perched on the Húsavíkurhöfði headland above Húsavík harbor. From Akureyri, drive 92 km east along Route 85 (approximately 1 hour). From Húsavík town center, follow signs uphill to the baths (2 km, 3 minutes by car). Free on-site parking is available. The facility is 480 km from Reykjavík via Route 1, or accessible by domestic flight to Húsavík airport (seasonal). The road is paved and well-maintained year-round -- no 4WD needed.

Best Time to Visit

Year-round, but each season offers distinct highlights. June through August: peak whale-watching season with humpback and minke whales visible from the pools, plus midnight sun soaking until near midnight. September through October: whale season winds down but northern lights begin, with fewer visitors. November through February: excellent northern lights viewing from the warm pools against a dark Arctic sky. March through May: returning daylight with quieter conditions before summer crowds arrive. Combine with a Húsavík whale-watching boat tour for the ultimate marine wildlife day.

Pricing

Adult admission is approximately 4,900 ISK (~$36 USD). Children under 12 enter free. Combo tickets with whale-watching tours may be available seasonally. Check the GeoSea website for current pricing and online booking discounts.
