  • Just 20 minutes northeast of downtown Reykjavik via Route 1 toward Akureyri
  • Turn off Route 1 onto Route 36 at Mosfellsbær to enter the valley

  • Public bus Route 15 from Reykjavik reaches Mosfellsbær, then walk or taxi into the valley
  • Very easy day trip from Reykjavik — combine with Golden Circle excursion via Route 36
